Persipura Jayapura

History
Persipura Jayapura is formed in 1950. Persipura Jayapura (acronym for Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Jayapura) is a West Papuan football club located in Jayapura, Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
Persipura Jaypura is made up of mostly players of Melanesian origin hence the nickname The Black Pearls or Mutiara Hitam in Indonesian. Persipura is considered as one of the elite football clubs in Indonesia having won the Indonesian league twice in 1976 and 2005.
Ground
Persipura's ground is known as the Mandala Stadium with has the capacity over of 25,000 people.The Stadium near the beach it name Dok V (lima) beach. The Stadium have beautiful view and close to Fisher village. On the east background Cyclope Mountain.
Honours
Persipura has won the Liga Indonesia twice in 1976 and 2005. Persipura also became runner up of the Piala Indonesia and Liga Indonesia in 2007 edition twice in 2006 and 2007.
