About David Suazo:
Oscar David Suazo Velazquez, more commonly known as "David Suazo", was born in Honduras on 5th November 1979. Suazo was a talented footballer from an early age and he was able to develop his natural ability alongside his cousin Maynor Suazo who was also destined to become a top class player. Suazo played in local club sides impressing wherever he went and it looked like he was set up to enjoy an extremely successful career in his home country.
Fate however intervened and when Suazo impressed playing for Honduras in the FIFA World Youth Championship in 1999 Europe beckoned. Suazo’s impressive and commanding performances as Captain for the Honduras national team drew tremendous attention from European clubs and Suazo signed for Italian side Cagliari in time for the beginning of the 1999-00 season.
Suazo’s first season at Cagliari saw the club suffer relegation to Serie B where they remained until the 2003-04 season. During these intervening years Suazo turned some outstanding performances for the Italian club and he gained invaluable experience of the pace of the European game. Suazo was still at Cagliari when they returned to Serie A for the beginning of the 2004-05 season and was an integral member of the team that fought to avoid relegation. Suazo’s talent and passion for his club was rewarded when he was awarded the Serie A Award for the Best Foreign Player along with Brazilian national team star, Kaka.
In the summer of 2007 David Suazo signed for Italian giants Inter Milan and thus far he has featured as a composed first team striker. Suazo’s passion and natural talent have propelled him to become a first string striker for one of the strongest and most impressive football teams in Europe.
Suazo plays international football for the Honduras national squad and was a member of the team that competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney.
