Daniele De Rossi was born in Italy on 24th July 1983 and has succeeded in rising through the ranks at Roma to become one of the integral members of the first team. De Rossi has established himself as a strong and commanding central midfielder with exciting attacking capabilities.
De Rossi was born in Rome and when he showed great ability for football at an early age he joined the Roma youth system to develop his emerging talent. De Rossi impressed through the ranks at Roma showing skill and composure which was awarded when he made his first team debut in October 2001 in a Champion’s League game.
As a product of the Roma youth system De Rossi has become a key member of the Roma first team showing great strength, focus and vision thereby earning the respect of his team mates. At Roma he has gained valuable experience in Europe competing among the elite clubs in the Champion’s League and receiving plaudits for his imposing influence in the midfield role.
De Rossi plays his international football for the Italian national squad since first making his senior debut against Norway in the qualification rounds of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. De Rossi was named as a member of the Italian squad that participated in, and went on to win, the 2006 FIFA World Cup. During the group stages De Rossi was a subject of controversy as he received a straight red card for elbowing the USA’s Brian McBride in the face. However, De Rossi returned to compete in the final helping his team to eventual victory against France.
