About Aaron Lennon:

Aaron Justin Lennon was born in Leeds on 16th April 1987. His career started at hometown Club Leeds United and it was at Leeds where he became the youngest player to appear in a Premier League match, he was 16 years and 129 days old. Lennon was one of the success stories of the youth Academy set up at Leeds.

Lennon moved to Tottenham Hotspur in June 2005 for the sum of one million pounds helping to ease some of Leeds financial difficulties. On 18th March 2006 Lennon scored his first goal for Spurs and as his confidence increased his natural flair for the game became apparent. Lennon wowed the crowds with his ability to take the ball past players with ease and has become one of the most popular players with the White Hart Lane faithful.

His talent received recognition during the 2005-06 season when he was nominated for the PFA Young Player of the Year however the award was ultimately presented to Wayne Rooney. Rumours of Lennon leaving Spurs were quashed when he signed a new five and a half year contract in January 2007 worth £40,000 a week. Lennon is an integral member of the Spurs team and his lighting speed along the wing makes him a player to be feared.

Lennon plays international football for England and was a member of the 2006 England World Cup squad. At a young age Lennon has yet to establish a secure place in the England team but his performances for his country have received great praise. Lennon made his first start for England against Israel on 24th March 2007 and thereby relinquished an England record as the player who had made the most substitute appearances without ever having started a game.

One thing for sure is that Lennon is one of England's brightest talents for the future and is definitely a player to watch. Expect great things over the coming seasons.
